ALSTRONG CB 253 is a concrete bonding agent for road repair and industrial floor overlays. It is brushed onto the prepared existing concrete as a bond coat, and the fresh concrete or mortar is placed while that coat is still tacky. It is a multi-purpose overlay bonding agent that works with all cementitious overlays.
Bonds the patch to sound concrete cut out to 25 mm minimum.
Bond coat between the existing floor and a new cementitious overlay.
Brushed onto the cleaned substrate before the repair mortar is placed.
Holds the new overlay to the existing deck concrete.
Tacky bond coat that helps prevent delamination of the repair.
Used wet-on-wet, with fresh concrete placed over the bond coat.
For a concrete road patch repair, cut out deteriorated concrete to sound substrate, at least 25 mm deep, and saw cut the edges to 90 degrees. Clean with water blasting or compressed air, then brush on the bond coat. For bridge deck overlay bonding or a floor overlay, timing matters. Place the overlay while the coat is tacky, never fully dry, then compact, finish and cure for 7 days.

Placing the overlay while the coat is still tacky gives maximum adhesion between old and new concrete and prevents delamination.
It is compatible with all cementitious overlays, so the same bond coat serves concrete and mortar repairs.
The high bond between overlay and existing substrate is what makes the repair durable and long lasting.
Cut out deteriorated concrete to sound substrate — minimum 25mm depth
Saw cut edges to 90 degrees for proper overlay bond
Clean prepared area with water blasting or compressed air
Apply ALSTRONG CB 253 to prepared substrate by brush
Allow to become tacky — do not allow to dry fully
Place fresh concrete or mortar overlay while bond coat is tacky
Compact and finish overlay to required level and cure for 7 days
