    ROOFEX-SEAL PS

    • Water tank expansion joint leak
    • Fuel-exposed floor joints
    • Road and highway joints
    • Building expansion joint sealing

ROOFEX-SEAL PS is a two-component polysulphide liquid polymer sealant, available in Gun Grade (non-sag) and Pour Grade (self-levelling). When mixed, the base and curing agent react to form a firm, flexible rubber-like seal with excellent adhesion to concrete, masonry, wood, glass, acrylic and PVC. Capable of withstanding repeated expansion, contraction and cyclic movement without loss of adhesion — with 30% movement accommodation on butt joints, 50% on lap joints, and a stated service life of 20 years or more. Service temperature: -40°C to +80°C. Compliant with ASTM C-920-87, DIN-18549, TT-S-00227E and BS-4254-83. CPWD and government infrastructure approved.

Where to use ROOFEX-SEAL PS: polysulphide sealant for tanks, roads and fuel areas

ROOFEX-SEAL PS is a polysulphide sealant made of two components, a base and a curing agent, that react to form a firm, flexible rubber-like seal. Gun Grade is non-sag and applied with a caulking gun. Pour Grade is self-levelling and poured into horizontal joints. It withstands repeated expansion, contraction and cyclic movement without loss of adhesion.

    • Expansion Joints in Buildings

Accommodates 30% movement on butt joints and 50% on lap joints.

    • Roads & Highways

Resists petrol, diesel, jet fuel and vegetable oils.

    • Potable Water Retaining Structures

Use the correct primer on concrete before sealing the joint.

    • Internal Structural Seals

Cures in 7 days at 20°C to a firm, flexible seal.

    • Horizontal Floor Joints (Pour Grade)

Pour Grade self-levels in the joint, so no tooling is required.

    • Vertical & Ceiling Joints (Gun Grade)

Gun Grade is non-sag and applied with a caulking gun.

    • Petrochemical & Fuel-Exposed Joints

Chemical resistance covers alkalis, dilute acids, solvents and fuels.

For a water tank expansion joint leak or similar moving joint, ROOFEX-SEAL PS handles joint widths of 6–25 mm in a single application and up to 50 mm in multiple applications. Service temperature is -40°C to +80°C, with a stated service life of 20 years or more when correctly applied. As a fuel resistant joint sealant it complies with ASTM C-920-87, DIN-18549, TT-S-00227E and BS-4254-83. Keep width to depth at 2:1 on butt joints and 1:1 on lap or floor joints, and prime first.

Armstrong Chemicals supplies ROOFEX-SEAL PS to sites across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, including Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Bengaluru, Kochi and Chennai.

    Why It Works

Why Standard Expansion Joint Fillers Fail Over Time

Bitumen, mastics and metallic channel expansion sheets cannot handle repeated cyclic movement without cracking, losing adhesion or deteriorating under UV, fuel or chemical exposure. Most require maintenance within 5–10 years.

    The ROOFEX-SEAL PS Advantage

A polysulphide rubber-like seal that withstands repeated expansion, contraction and cyclic movement without loss of adhesion — resistant to UV, ozone, water, salt, oils, fuels and most solvents. Stated service life: 20 years or more.

    Self-Levelling Pour Grade

The Pour Grade flows under gravity into horizontal joints and self-levels without tooling — eliminating the skilled labour requirement of gun-applied sealants for floor joint applications, and ensuring complete, void-free joint filling.

Petrol, Diesel & Jet Fuel Resistant

Chemical resistance to petrol, diesel, jet fuel and many solvents — specifically relevant for highways, airport aprons, petrochemical plants and fuel-handling facilities where standard PU and cement-based sealants are not rated.

    Primer Reference

Match the correct primer to the substrate before applying ROOFEX-SEAL PS.

    Primer TypeSuitable for
Porous PrimerBrick, concrete, natural stone, stained timber frame, glazed tile (unglazed edge)
Non-Porous PrimerStainless steel, glass, glazed tile (face)

Not compatible with either primer: PPC aluminium/steel, lead, galvanised steel, GR cement, mill-finished or anodised aluminium, PVC-U.

    How to Use

    1

Determine joint type (butt or lap/floor) and expected movement

    2

Calculate design joint width using the formula: butt joints = expected movement × 4.33; lap joints = expected movement × 2

    3

Confirm substrate type — check primer compatibility; do NOT use on PPC aluminium, lead, galvanised steel, anodised aluminium or PVC-U

    4

Apply the correct primer: porous primer for concrete/brick/stone/timber; non-porous primer for steel/glass/glazed tile face

    5

Allow primer to cure fully before applying ROOFEX-SEAL PS

    6

For Gun Grade: apply with a caulking gun to horizontal, vertical or ceiling joints

    7

For Pour Grade: pour the mixed sealant into horizontal joints — self-levelling, no tooling required

    8

Full cure: 7 days at 20°C

    9

Paintable after cure — note that excessive joint movement may crack the paint and could induce tears in the sealant
