Where to use ARMSTRONG ARC 450: acid resistant epoxy coating for floors and walls

ARMSTRONG ARC 450 is an acid resistant epoxy coating for floors and walls in chemical environments. It is a two-component product: the surface is ground, an acid resistant primer goes on, then the mixed components are applied as the first coat. Further coats follow, which makes it a chemical resistant floor coating for chemical plants and acid storage areas.

    • Chemical plants

Coats floors and walls in chemical environments.

    • Battery charging rooms

Two-component epoxy applied in 2–3 coats over primer.

    • Laboratory floors

Resists HCl, HNO3 and the alkalis NaOH and KOH.

    • Acid storage areas

Full chemical resistance is reached after 7 days.

    • Plating shops

Applied over an acid resistant primer on a ground surface.

Against battery room floor damage and acid spills, it is listed as resistant to HCl, H2SO4 and HNO3, and to the alkalis NaOH and KOH. Each coat gives a DFT of 200–300 microns, and 2–3 coats are applied. It also suits laboratory floor coating work. Apply the second coat after 12–16 hours, and note that full chemical resistance comes after 7 days.

Armstrong Chemicals supplies ARMSTRONG ARC 450 to sites across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, including Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Bengaluru, Kochi and Chennai.

    Why ARMSTRONG ARC 450 works

    • Acid resistance

It is listed as resistant to HCl, H2SO4 and HNO3, so the coating stands between these acids and the floor.

    • Alkali resistance too

Resistance to NaOH and KOH means the same coating handles alkalis as well as acids.

    • Built up in coats

Each coat adds 200–300 microns, and 2–3 coats build the full protective film.
