CONPROOF EP is a two-component, food neutral, water thinnable epoxy resin waterproof and damp proof coating — safe, non-toxic and non-flammable. Compliant with ASTM-C-881 and EN 13813, it forms a hard, tough, strong film with excellent resistance to positive hydrostatic water pressure, salt water, dilute acids, alkalies and other chemicals. White in colour and tintable with any colour pigments, it can be overcoated by solvent-based or water-based paints. Applied on damp or dry surfaces for water tanks, damp walls, terraces, food industry and hatchery applications.
Figures are controlled laboratory results. Actual site performance varies with substrate, temperature, humidity, application method and workmanship — please confirm the current product datasheet before specification.
CONPROOF EP is a food neutral epoxy coating for water tank interiors and damp walls. It is a two-component, food neutral, water thinnable epoxy resin that is non-toxic and non-flammable. As a water based epoxy coating it is mixed with water and brushed on to damp or dry surfaces, forming a hard, tough, strong film.
Food neutral and non-toxic. Wash the tank thoroughly before filling drinking water.
Can be applied by brush on damp or dry surfaces.
Overcoat with a weather-durable coating on exposed exterior walls.
Used as a primer before PU and other chemical coatings.
Hard, tough film that can be overcoated with paints.
Food neutral film resistant to dilute acids and alkalies.
Resists salt water and positive hydrostatic water pressure.
Brushed on first, as the primer coat under PU systems.
CONPROOF EP is safe to coat a drinking water tank with, being food neutral and non-toxic. Mix 1 kg of resin with 1 kg of hardener, then slowly add 1 litre of water. Coverage is 60–80 sq.ft per kg per coat, adhesion is above 3 N/mm² and pot life is about 60 minutes at 20°C. As an epoxy damp proof coating it reaches final strength after 7 days. Allow a minimum of 24 hours before filling the tank.
Armstrong Chemicals supplies CONPROOF EP to sites across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, including Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Bengaluru, Kochi and Chennai.
The coating is food neutral, non-toxic and non-hazardous, which is why it is listed for drinking water tanks.
It can be applied on damp or dry surfaces, with adhesion above 3 N/mm², the breaking point of concrete.
The hard epoxy film resists positive hydrostatic water pressure, salt water, dilute acids and alkalies.
A food neutral, non-toxic, water thinnable two-component epoxy coating — safe for drinking water tanks, breweries, food processing plants and aquafarms, with excellent resistance to hydrostatic pressure, salts, acids and chemicals. Non-flammable, overpaintable, and tools clean with water.
Get a QuoteSolvent-based coatings and conventional epoxies contain hazardous, flammable components that make them unsafe for surfaces in contact with food, beverages or potable water — ruling them out of breweries, food processing, drinking water tanks and aquafarms.
A food neutral, non-toxic, non-flammable, water thinnable epoxy that delivers full waterproof performance — positive hydrostatic pressure resistance, chemical resistance, excellent adhesion — in every area where safety matters as much as sealing.
CONPROOF EP is food neutral and non-toxic — approved for inside surfaces of concrete and masonry drinking water tanks, and for walls in breweries, food processing plants, hatcheries and aquafarms.
Diluted with water, not solvents — no flammability hazard during application, no solvent vapour in confined spaces like water tanks or food plant areas. Tools clean with water within one hour of use.
Prepare groove/joint in cracks wider than 2mm; clean dust; wash with water and allow to dry
Seal cracks: mix CONPROOF EP 1:1 (1kg Part 1 + 1kg Part 2), add 1L water, add silica powder and white cement to form a putty; seal cracks and allow to dry
Apply 1st coat: mix 1:1 (1kg + 1kg) + 1L water thoroughly; apply by brush; cure 6–8 hours
Apply 2nd/final coat after the first coat dries
Allow all coatings to cure minimum 24 hours before filling water
Before filling drinking water, wash the tank surface thoroughly with plenty of water
An epoxy waterproof coating for surfaces where toxicity, flammability and chemical safety are non-negotiable.
Specifically designed for concrete drinking water tanks, breweries, food processing plants and hatcheries — where standard waterproof coatings cannot be used safely.
Dual-standard compliance across US (ASTM-C-881) and European (EN 13813) specifications — independently tested for epoxy bonding and screed/flooring applications.
Forms a hard, tough film with excellent resistance to positive hydrostatic pressure — for tank interiors and wet walls where water pressure pushes inward against the coating.
Documented systems for water tanks (inside), damp interior walls and as a primer coat before PU or chemical topcoats on terraces and exterior walls.
Available in 2kg, 10kg and 20kg packs. Shelf life of 1 year in original unopened containers stored at 25°C in a cool, dry place.
Remove all previous coatings before application. Do not apply below 8°C substrate temperature. On exterior surfaces, always overcoat with a weather-durable coating — CONPROOF EP alone is not suitable for prolonged exterior exposure. Tools must be cleaned with water within 1 hour of use.
Diluted with water (not solvents), tools clean with water within 1 hour — no flammability risk during application, safe for indoor use in confined spaces like water tanks and food processing areas.
Before mixing, mix each part individually in its own container first
Pour Part 1 (Resin, 1kg) into a larger container
Add Part 2 (Hardener, 1kg) and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous smooth paste is achieved
Slowly add 1 litre of water and continue mixing
⚠️ Pot life is approx. 60 minutes @ 20°C — apply within this window
Apply by brush; allow 6–8 hours between coats; allow 24 hours minimum before filling water (tank applications)
⚠️ On exterior surfaces, overcoat with a weather-durable coating — CONPROOF EP alone is not weather-durable for exposed exterior use
