SHINESHIELD WP 305 is a single-component, ready-to-use, water-based acrylic-polyurethane blended primer and sealer for exterior wall coating applications. Water-based, solvent-free and very low VOC — it penetrates and seals concrete, masonry, fibre cement and brick substrates, improves adhesion of decorative and waterproof topcoats, and remains permeable to water vapour to prevent moisture entrapment behind exterior finishes. Ready to overcoat in 2–3 hours at 30°C. Apply by spray, brush or medium nap roller.
Figures are controlled laboratory results. Actual site performance varies with substrate, temperature, humidity, application method and workmanship — please confirm the current product datasheet before specification.
SHINESHIELD WP 305 is an acrylic PU primer sealer for exterior wall coating work. It is single-component, ready to use, water-based and solvent-free. Applied by spray, brush or medium nap roller, it penetrates and seals the surface and improves adhesion of topcoats. It is also a breathable exterior primer that stays permeable to water vapour.
Penetrates and seals concrete and masonry before the topcoat.
Seals fibre cement and improves adhesion of the coating over it.
Worked well into brick by brush, roller or spray.
Over-roll after spraying to maximise penetration and sealing.
Improves adhesion of exterior decorative wall coatings applied over it.
The recommended primer, applied at minimum 0.15 mm thickness before the main coat.
Breathable primer that avoids trapping moisture behind exterior finishes.
It is a low VOC exterior sealer with a pH of 9, supplied in 1, 5, 10, 20 and 210 Ltr packs with a 12 month shelf life. Apply between +10°C and +35°C, at a relative humidity of 80% at most. New cement or concrete needs a minimum of 28 days first. Used as an exterior primer for a coastal area, do not delay the topcoat after priming. Wait 2–3 hours at 30°C before overcoating.
Armstrong Chemicals supplies SHINESHIELD WP 305 to sites across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, including Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Bengaluru, Kochi and Chennai.
A water-based, solvent-free, acrylic-polyurethane blended primer that penetrates deeply, seals highly absorbent substrates, and remains permeable to water vapour — so the coating system bonds, breathes and performs for the life of the exterior finish.
Get a QuoteStandard primers that trap moisture behind exterior coatings allow vapour pressure to build — causing blistering, peeling and adhesion failure months after application, especially on porous or previously coated substrates.
A breathable primer that penetrates and seals the substrate while remaining permeable to water vapour — so moisture can escape rather than build pressure. PU-blended acrylic chemistry delivers better adhesion and durability than pure acrylic primers.
Water vapour permeability prevents moisture entrapment behind exterior coatings — the primary cause of blistering and delamination on exterior walls, particularly in high-humidity and coastal environments.
Polyurethane blended with acrylic dispersion delivers superior adhesion and durability compared to pure acrylic primers — the chemistry behind the improved topcoat bond strength and the extended exterior finish life.
Applied at minimum 0.15mm — you are here.
Water-based PU-blended performance — the first step in a durable exterior waterproofing system.
Remains permeable to water vapour after application, allowing residual moisture in the substrate to escape rather than building pressure behind the topcoat. Prevents blistering and delamination on exterior walls.
Polyurethane blended acrylic dispersion delivers better topcoat adhesion, penetration and durability than standard acrylic primers — the chemistry behind improved exterior coating system performance.
No solvents — safe for applicators in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces. Very low VOC. Tools clean with water immediately after use.
Ready to receive the topcoat in 2–3 hours at 30°C — fast turnaround for exterior wall projects on tight schedules.
Ensure substrate is clean, dry and sound — free from oil, grease, dust, loose particles, paint, cement laitance, old coatings, mould, efflorescence, curing compounds and release agents
New cement/concrete: allow minimum 28 days before application
Seal all cracks using Armstrong Crack Filler before priming
Remove existing coatings by suitable methods; abrade firmly coated areas with abrasive paper
Thoroughly clean all surfaces by high-pressure water jetting; allow to dry completely
Stir SHINESHIELD WP 305 thoroughly with a conventional paint stirrer before use
Check ambient conditions: temperature +10°C to +35°C, relative humidity max 80%, substrate temperature at least 3°C above dew point
Apply by spray, brush or medium nap roller — work the primer well into the surface
For highly porous surfaces: over-roll after spray application to maximise penetration and sealing
Do not apply in high wind, very hot conditions, direct sunlight or when rain is imminent
In coastal areas: do not delay topcoat application after priming
Overcoating: wait 2–3 hours at 30°C before applying topcoat
Clean tools with water immediately after use — hardened material can only be removed mechanically
Available in 1, 5, 10, 20 & 210 Litre packs. Shelf life of 12 months from manufacture, stored between 10°C and 30°C in original, sealed packaging. Protect from direct sunlight and frost. Do not allow to freeze.
Do not apply in high wind, very hot conditions, direct sunlight or when rain is imminent. Application temperature: +10°C to +35°C; relative humidity: max 80%; substrate temperature must be at least 3°C above dew point. In coastal areas: apply topcoat without delay after priming.
SHINESHIELD WP 305 is permeable to water vapour — moisture in the substrate can breathe out through the primer and topcoat rather than being trapped, preventing blistering and delamination on exterior walls. Designed as Step 1 of the RAINPROOF PWR 690 waterproofing system.
