RAINPROOF PWR 690 is a two-component, 100% solids, fast-setting hybrid polyurea-polyurethane aliphatic waterproofing coating for extreme climatic conditions. Aliphatic chemistry delivers inherent UV stability without yellowing; 100% solids means every millimetre applied stays in the cured membrane — forming a seamless, elastic thick-film waterproof layer with >700% elongation, >30 MPa tensile strength and documented durability of up to 30 years at 1.2–2.0mm DFT. Complies with ASTM C-1250, D-2196, D-1475 and D-570. CPWD and government infrastructure approved.
Figures are controlled laboratory results. Actual site performance varies with substrate, temperature, humidity, application method and workmanship — please confirm the current product datasheet before specification.
RAINPROOF PWR 690 is a polyurea waterproofing coating for extreme climatic conditions. It is a two-component, fast-setting hybrid polyurea coating with polyurethane, at 100% solids, so the thickness you apply stays in the cured membrane. Part A and Part B are mixed 1:1 by volume and applied by brush, roller or airless spray over a primed surface.
Thick elastic membrane with tensile strength above 30 MPa.
Applied at 1.2–2.0 mm DFT over the mandatory primer.
UV stable aliphatic coating that does not yellow.
Takes pedestrian traffic in 1–3 hours after application.
Waterproof layer laid beneath thermal insulation boards.
Water absorption is below 1.5% in the cured membrane.
Elongation above 700% in an elastic, thick-film layer.
Made for extreme climatic conditions, with Shore A hardness above 85.
Allow full cure before the membrane meets water.
Brush, roller or airless spray on dry, primed concrete.
Listed for water storage tanks, including potable water.
Very low VOC content of 18.18 g/ltr.
For long lasting terrace waterproofing, apply at 1.2–2.0 mm DFT. Consumption is approximately 1.2 kg/m² at 1.2 mm. This aliphatic polyurea hybrid shows tensile strength above 30 MPa, elongation above 700%, bond strength to concrete above 380 PSI and abrasion loss of 20 mg per 1,000 cycles. It complies with ASTM C-1250, D-2196, D-1475 and D-570. Priming with Shineshield WP 305 at a minimum of 0.15 mm is mandatory. Gel time is 1 hour, and the surface is walkable after 3 hours.
Armstrong Chemicals supplies RAINPROOF PWR 690 to sites across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, including Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Bengaluru, Kochi and Chennai.
No solvent evaporates during curing, so the full wet film thickness you apply is retained as the cured membrane.
Aliphatic chemistry gives inherent UV stability without yellowing, which matters on roofs and decks left open to the sun.
Elongation above 700% with tensile strength above 30 MPa gives an elastic, thick-film layer that is also tough.
100% solids — no solvent evaporates, no volume is lost on cure. A two-component hybrid polyurea-polyurethane aliphatic membrane that delivers >700% elongation, >30 MPa tensile strength and a 30+ year expected service life at 1.2–2.0mm DFT.
Get a QuoteCoatings with 58–91% solids lose the balance as solvents evaporate on cure — the cured membrane is thinner than the wet-film thickness specified. In a coating applied at 1mm, only 580–910 microns remain.
100% solids by volume — every millimetre of applied wet film is retained as cured membrane. The specified DFT is the actual cured DFT, delivering the performance data (elongation, tensile, durability) without volume loss.
Aliphatic polyurea-polyurethane coatings are inherently UV-resistant because aliphatic isocyanates do not photodegrade or yellow under UV exposure — unlike aromatic alternatives. UV resistance for RAINPROOF PWR 690 is a chemical property, not just a test result.
Applied at 1.2–2.0mm DFT, RAINPROOF PWR 690 has an expected service life of 30+ years. Backed by 100% solids, >700% elongation and >30 MPa tensile strength.
Three products engineered to work together for structural waterproofing plus heat reflectivity
Minimum 0.15 mm, one coat. Ensures adhesion of the main coat to the prepared substrate.
1.2–2.0 mm DFT. 100% solids — every millimetre applied is retained in the cured membrane.
SRI 113. Reduces peak summer room temperature by 12°C–15°C.
100% solids, aliphatic chemistry, 30-year durability — the most technically advanced waterproofing coating in the Armstrong range.
Every millimetre of wet-film applied equals a millimetre of cured membrane — no solvent evaporation, no thickness loss. The full DFT specified is the actual DFT delivered.
Aliphatic polyurea/PU chemistry does not yellow or degrade under UV — inherently stable, not just UV-treated. Excellent for exposed roofs, bridge decks and marine environments.
Excellent crack bridging with >700% elongation and >30 MPa tensile strength (ASTM-D412) — 79 MPa tear strength — one of the highest mechanical performance profiles of any coating in the range.
Multi-standard ASTM compliance with very low VOC (18.18 g/ltr) — suitable for potable water storage tanks, swimming pools, marine environments and chemical plant applications.
Concrete prep: clean with grinder/wire brush and high-pressure water jet; ensure freedom from dust, oil, grease, grime and loose particles
Check for soundness — repair hollow areas with ROOFCRETE EP epoxy mortar
Open out, clean and fill small cracks with ROOFCRETE EP
Seal expandable cracks with Roofexseal PU polyurethane sealant
Smooth/non-absorptive substrates: prepare by grinding, sand blasting, water jet blasting or shot blasting depending on substrate type
Clean residual dust with a high-suction vacuum cleaner — do not water wash before coating
Metal/wood: remove loose rust, mill scale and deteriorated coatings by chemical treatment and hand/power tools; ultra-high pressure water jetting for thorough surface cleanliness
Priming (mandatory): apply Shineshield WP 305 polyurethane waterproof primer — minimum 0.15mm thick, one coat — and allow to cure per its instructions
Mix Part A and Part B separately for 2–3 minutes each using a low-speed mixer (300 rpm); combine at 1:1 by volume until uniformly dispersed near the sides and bottom
⚠️ Do not apply if air dew point is less than 30°C below ambient; avoid rapidly rising temperatures (forenoon) or imminent inclement weather
Apply over dry primed surface by brush, roller or airless spray at approximately 1.2 kg/m² for 1.2mm DFT; target DFT 1.2–2.0mm
Walkable after 3 hours; allow full cure before water contact or heavy traffic
Optional topcoat: apply Summershield Cool 666 solar reflective aliphatic topcoat (SRI 113) to reduce peak summer room temperature by 12–15°C
Supplied as two separate containers — Resin: 20 Kg & 225 Kg; Activator: 20 Kg & 225 Kg. Shelf life of 12 months from manufacture.
⚠️ Do not apply if dew point is less than 30°C below ambient temperature. Avoid application during rapidly rising temperatures (forenoon) or when inclement weather is imminent. Substrate must be clean, dry and sound before priming.
For maximum performance, Armstrong recommends: (1) Shineshield WP 305 primer → (2) RAINPROOF PWR 690 main coat → (3) Summershield Cool 666 solar reflective topcoat. The full system delivers structural waterproofing plus heat reflectivity with SRI 113. For substrate repair before priming, use ROOFCRETE EP epoxy mortar to fill cracks and hollow areas.
