    ALSTRONG AC

    • Rusted rods in slab repair
    • Exposed reinforcement rust
    • Anti-carbonisation coat on concrete
    • Structural steel in coastal air

ALSTRONG AC is a polyurethane-blended, long-lasting corrosion preventive coating for the protection of exposed steel reinforcement and iron. Self-priming and tolerant of lower grades of steel preparation — it penetrates into existing rust to combine it with the coating all the way down to the original metal surface. Provides excellent resistance to corrosion, chemicals and weathering in industrial, coastal and chemical environments. Also used as an anti-carbonisation coat on exterior and internal concrete structures to prevent CO₂-induced reinforcement corrosion. Fully compatible with the ROOFBOND and ROOFCRETE concrete repair systems.

Where to use ALSTRONG AC: rebar anti corrosive coating before concrete repair

ALSTRONG AC is a rebar anti corrosive coating blended with polyurethane for exposed steel reinforcement and iron. It is self-priming and tolerates lower grades of steel preparation, because it penetrates existing rust and combines it with the coating down to the original metal. You apply it by brush or spray, normally in two coats.

    • Exposed Steel Reinforcement (Before Concrete Repair)

Coat cleaned bars, then place repair mortar or concrete over them.

    • Structural Steel & Iron

Self-priming coat for steel and iron exposed to the atmosphere.

    • Anti-Carbonisation (Exterior & Internal Concrete)

Applied on concrete to keep carbon dioxide from corroding the reinforcement.

    • Industrial Environments

Resists corrosion, chemicals and weathering in industrial settings.

    • Coastal Structures

Corrosion preventive coat for steel and reinforcement in coastal exposure.

    • Chemical Plant Exposure

Chemical resistance for steel and iron in plant areas.

    • Compatible with ROOFBOND / ROOFCRETE Systems

Works as the primer step before ROOFBOND and ROOFCRETE repairs.

When rusted rods show up in a slab repair, ALSTRONG AC gives corrosion protection for steel reinforcement before the new mortar goes on. Coverage is 60–70 sq.ft per litre per coat by brush or spray. It is touch dry in 30 min at 20°C and ready for the second coat after 45 min at 20°C, or 35 min at 35°C. Packs run from 500 ml to 210 litres, with a shelf life of 2 years. Apply within 3–4 hours of surface preparation.

Armstrong Chemicals supplies ALSTRONG AC to sites across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, including Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Bengaluru, Kochi and Chennai.

    Why It Works

    Two Ways Steel Reinforcement Fails

Corrosion from direct exposure, and carbonation-induced corrosion when CO₂ penetrates concrete and reduces the pH around the reinforcement — attacking the passive oxide layer that normally protects steel. Both require treatment before structural repair is viable.

    The ALSTRONG AC Advantage

Self-priming PU-blended coating that penetrates existing rust to the original metal surface, plus anti-carbonisation capability for concrete structures — a single product addressing both corrosion threats before and after concrete repair.

Self-Priming — Tolerant of Lower Prep

ALSTRONG AC is self-priming and tolerant of lower grades of steel preparation — it does not require blast-cleaned white metal to bond effectively, making it practical for in-situ structural repairs where perfect surface preparation is not achievable.

    Anti-Carbonisation for Concrete

Applied to exterior and internal concrete walls and structures, ALSTRONG AC acts as an anti-carbonisation coat — blocking CO₂ penetration into the concrete cover and preventing the pH reduction that drives reinforcement corrosion.

Pairs with ROOFBOND SBR and ROOFCRETE EP for the full repair system.

    How to Use

    1

Prepare steel or reinforcement surface — clean and dry, free from loose rust, scale, oil and grease

    2

Apply ALSTRONG AC within 3–4 hours of surface preparation — do not leave prepared surfaces exposed longer than necessary

    3

Apply by brush or spray, ensuring thorough coverage of all surfaces

    4

    Touch dry: 30 min @ 20°C / 20 min @ 35°C

    5

    Apply second coat after first is fully dry (45 min @ 20°C / 35 min @ 35°C)

    6

Overcoat or apply concrete/mortar repair material before the coated reinforcement is exposed unnecessarily to the atmosphere
