Where to use ROOFCRETE EP: epoxy repair mortar for deep sections

ROOFCRETE EP is an epoxy repair mortar and concrete system in three parts: epoxy resin, amine hardener and silica filler. Mixed with site-graded aggregates, it forms a structural epoxy concrete for reinstating distressed and defective concrete. It is trowelled onto a surface primed with Roofbond EP Primer while the primer is still tacky.

    • Deep Section Column & Wall Repairs

Reinstates deep sections in columns, walls and heavily loaded areas.

    • Foundation Concrete Repair

Reinstates distressed foundation concrete, reaching 93 N/mm² at 7 days.

    • Dams & Spillways

Cures unaffected by humidity, which helps on damp concrete.

    • Bridge Repairs

Bonds to cement at 4 N/mm² over the primed surface.

    • Runways & Highways

Levelled and finished with a steel trowel without over-working.

    • Structural Rehabilitation

Used where high compressive strength and impact resistance are required.

    • Damp & Dry Surface Repairs

Suitable where full dryness before repair is impractical.

    • Chemical & Abrasion Resistant Finishes

Chosen where chemical and abrasion resistance are required.

For spalled concrete repair in deep sections, it reaches 93 N/mm² compressive strength and 21 N/mm² flexural strength at 7 days, and bonds to cement at 4 N/mm². Curing is unaffected by humidity, so it works as an epoxy mortar for damp surfaces as well as dry ones. Pot life is 90–120 minutes at 27°C, and packs are 7.5 Kgs and 22.5 Kgs without coarse aggregates. Apply within the primer's tacky window of 40–50 minutes at 35°C, and clean tools with acetone, not water.

Armstrong Chemicals supplies ROOFCRETE EP to sites across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, including Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Bengaluru, Kochi and Chennai.

    Three-Component Structural Epoxy Repair System

93 N/mm² at 7 Days. Structural Repair That Means It.

A solvent-free, three-component structural epoxy concrete and mortar system that bonds at 4 N/mm² to cement, cures unaffected by humidity, and achieves the highest compressive strength in the Armstrong repair range — for deep section repairs in dams, bridges, foundations and runways.

    Why It Works

Why Conventional Concrete Repairs Fail Under Load

Ordinary cement mortar patch repairs have poor bond strength to existing concrete, shrink on curing and lack the chemical and abrasion resistance needed for heavily loaded structural elements. Under dynamic load, they debond and fail.

    The ROOFCRETE EP Advantage

A structural-grade epoxy repair system that doesn't shrink, bonds at 4 N/mm² to cement, achieves 93 N/mm² compressive strength at 7 days and cures in both damp and dry conditions — engineered for columns, foundations and infrastructure where repair quality is non-negotiable.

Cures in Damp and Dry Conditions

Unaffected by humidity during curing — ROOFCRETE EP is suitable for both damp and dry surfaces, making it practical for concrete repairs in environments where full dryness before repair is impossible.

    Solvent-Free, High-Impact Resistance

A solvent-free formulation that provides high resistance to chemical attack and abrasion — suitable for structural elements exposed to aggressive environments, heavy traffic and impact loading.

    Application System

Four Phases — Surface Prep to Placement

The full site sequence — with the primer tacky window and acetone-only tool cleaning called out where it matters.

    Phase 1: Surface Preparation
    • •Mechanical cleaning: chip, scabble or grit-blast to sound substrate
    • •Remove oil, grease and fungus by detergent scrubbing; acid-etch if required
Phase 2: Prime with Roofbond EP Primer (mandatory)
    • •Mix Roofbond EP Primer hardener into base tin; apply thin continuous film immediately
    • •Heavy or porous areas: apply a second coat of primer immediately
    • •⚠️ ROOFCRETE EP must be placed while primer is still tacky — within 40–50 minutes @ 35°C
    Phase 3: Mixing
    • •Pour Part B (hardener) into Part A (base); mix 3 minutes with slow-speed drill
    • •Add Part C silica filler and site aggregates slowly under continuous mixing
    • •Reduce Part C proportionally if coarse aggregate is added
    Phase 4: Application
    • •Apply to primed surface while primer is still tacky
    • •Level and finish with steel trowel — do not over-work
    • •Clean all tools with acetone immediately — not water
    Structural Epoxy Repair

    Built for Structural Repair

Not a patch — a structural-grade epoxy repair system for distressed concrete.

    93 N/mm² Compressive Strength

Achieves 93 N/mm² at 7 days and 21 N/mm² flexural strength — structural-grade performance far exceeding ordinary cement mortar repairs, in a 90–120 minute pot-life system.

    Damp Surface Compatible

Cures unaffected by humidity — unlike conventional epoxy systems, ROOFCRETE EP is suitable for both damp and dry surface repairs where moisture cannot be eliminated before repair.

    Chemical & Abrasion Resistant

Solvent-free, high-strength epoxy concrete with excellent resistance to chemical attack and abrasion — suitable for spillways, industrial floors and heavily trafficked structural repairs.

    Deep Section Non-Shrink Design

Formulated for deep section repairs in columns, walls and foundations — non-shrink, compatible with concrete-to-concrete, steel-to-concrete and thin section bonding.

    Packing & Storage

Available in 7.5 Kg and 22.5 Kg packs (without coarse aggregates — aggregate added at site). Shelf life of 1 year stored dry below 35°C in unopened containers.

    Safety & Flash Point

⚠️ Flash point @ 35°C — flammable. Ensure good ventilation at the application area. Do not smoke during use. Wear protective clothing, barrier creams, gloves and goggles — especially for those sensitive to epoxy resins and solvents. Eye contact: wash with plenty of water and seek immediate medical advice.

    Tool Cleaning

Clean all tools and equipment with acetone or other solvents immediately after use — not water. Hardened epoxy cannot be removed once cured.

    How to Use

    1

Mechanically clean the substrate — remove all oil, grease, corrosion deposits, algae, loose particles and debonded materials by chipping or scabbling until a sound substrate is exposed

    2

Remove all laitance by scabbling or grit blasting

    3

Remove oil, grease and fungus by detergent scrubbing; use acid etching if required

    4

Add the entire contents of the Roofbond EP Primer hardener tin to the base tin and mix thoroughly

    5

Apply the primer immediately in a thin, continuous film using stiff brushes; for heavy/porous areas apply a second coat immediately

    6

⚠️ ROOFCRETE EP must be applied while the primer is still tacky — within 40–50 minutes at 35°C

    7

Pour the entire contents of Part B (hardener) into the Part A (base) container and mix with a slow-speed electric drill for 3 minutes until homogeneous

    8

Slowly add Part C silica filler and site aggregates under continuous mixing until a uniform concrete mix is obtained (reduce Part C proportionally if site aggregates are added)

    9

Apply to the primed surface while the primer is still tacky; level and finish with a steel trowel — do not over-work

    10

⚠️ Clean all tools and equipment with acetone or other solvents immediately after use — do not use water
