Where to use CONPROOF 500: integral waterproofing compound for plaster and concrete

CONPROOF 500 is an integral waterproofing compound for plaster and concrete, a high-plasticizing micronised liquid with nil chloride content. It reduces permeability, controls the water-cement ratio and prevents bleeding and segregation. This micronised waterproofing compound forms hydrophobic particles that block and coat capillary channels and voids from within, and you dilute it in water before adding it to the mix.

    • Plastering & Cement Mortar

Mixed into mortar at 500 ml per bag for damp-proof plaster.

    • Concrete Mixes

Reduces permeability and prevents bleeding and segregation in the mix.

    • Reinforced Concrete Structures

Nil chloride content, so it is safe to use around steel reinforcement.

    • Slab & Foundation Concrete

Blocks capillary channels and voids inside the concrete.

    • Waterproofing of Plaster & Screeds

Hydrophobic particles coat the capillaries in plaster and screed.

    • All Portland / Super Sulphate / Slab Cement Types

Compatible with all ordinary Portland, super sulphate and slab cement.

To stop dampness in new plaster, measure 500 ml per 50 kg bag of cement, mix it with 3–5 litres of water and add it to the mix. Each 500 ml carries 5,000–6,000 million micronised hydrophobic particles of 20-micron mean diameter. This IS 2645 compliant compound meets IS 2645-2003, is non-toxic and non-flammable, and has a 24 month shelf life. Packs run from 500 ml to 210 Litre containers. Cure properly for at least the first 7 days.

Armstrong Chemicals supplies CONPROOF 500 to sites across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, including Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Bengaluru, Kochi and Chennai.

    IS 2645-2003 Integral Waterproofing

Waterproofing That Works from the Inside Out

A micronised integral compound that forms 5,000–6,000 million hydrophobic particles per 500ml inside the cement matrix itself — blocking capillary channels at their source. Just 500ml per 50kg cement bag. Nil chloride. IS 2645-2003 compliant.

    Why It Works

Why Surface Coatings Alone Fall Short

Hydrostatic pressure and capillary action force water through concrete and cement at the microscopic level — surface coatings can't address channels that run through the structure itself.

    The CONPROOF 500 Advantage

A micronised compound mixed directly into the cement — so the waterproofing goes where the water does, filling and coating capillary channels and voids from within, not just sealing the outside surface.

5,000–6,000 Million Hydrophobic Particles per Dose

500ml of CONPROOF 500 produces approximately 5,000–6,000 million micronised water-repellent particles of 20-micron mean diameter — physically filling and hydrophobically coating the capillary channels and voids in the cement matrix.

    Multi-Action Performance

Beyond waterproofing, CONPROOF 500 improves workability, reduces water required for a given slump, prevents bleeding/segregation/shrinkage cracks and efflorescence, strengthens steel bonding, and improves concrete appearance — one admixture, multiple site benefits.

    The Mechanism

    How CONPROOF 500 Waterproofs Concrete

    Hydrostatic Pressure
Water under pressure travels through interconnected voids and channels in concrete. CONPROOF 500 blocks these channels at source.
    Capillary Action
Water absorbed by capillary forces travels through cement to exposed surfaces. Micronised particles reverse the surface tension that drives this movement.
    Pore Blocking
Cellular structure of concrete changes: isolated, disconnected voids replace interconnected water channels, preventing moisture vapour passage.
    Application Steps

One Dosage, One Method — Mix In and Cure

    1

Use only enough water for a workable cement/concrete mix — do not over-water

    2

Measure 500ml of CONPROOF 500 per bag of 50kg cement

    3

Mix the 500ml with 3–5 litres of water

    4

Add this mixture to the cement/concrete mix, along with any additional water required

    5

    Mix as usual

    6

Use well-graded aggregates with adequate fine particle content

    7

Cure properly for at least the first 7 days — major waterproofing improvements develop during this curing period

    Integral Waterproofing

    Waterproofing Built Into the Mix

Not a coating on top — a compound built into the structure itself.

    IS 2645-2003 Compliant, Nil Chloride

Independently tested and compliant with IS 2645-2003, with zero chloride content — safe for all reinforced concrete structures.

    Micronised Hydrophobic Action

5,000–6,000 million water-repellent particles per 500ml dose fill and coat capillary channels from within — waterproofing at the particle level.

    Multi-Action Site Performance

Improves workability and cohesiveness, reduces water demand, prevents bleeding/segregation/shrinkage cracks/efflorescence, and improves steel bonding — beyond just waterproofing.

    Simple Fixed Dosage

One dosage — 500ml per 50kg cement bag — for all waterproofing requirements, compatible with all types of ordinary Portland, super sulphate and slab cement.

    Packing & Shelf Life

    Available in 500ml, 1L, 5L, 10L, 20L & 210 Litre containers. Shelf life of 24 months (2 years) from manufacture.

    Important Precautions

Use only enough water for a workable mix — excess water causes bleeding, segregation and water channel formation. Use well-graded aggregates with adequate fine particles. Proper curing for the first 7 days is critical — major improvements in watertightness occur during this period. Skin contact: wash with water. Eye contact: wash with plenty of water; if irritation persists, obtain medical help.

    Mix Proportion

500ml of CONPROOF 500 per bag of 50kg cement — a fixed, simple dosage for all waterproofing requirements. Mix 500ml with 3–5 litres of water and add to the cement/concrete mix as usual.
