Integral Waterproofing of Concrete
Liquid compounds dosed per bag of cement
Applications
Foundations and slabsTanks and sumpsBathroomsPlaster, mortar and screedReady-mix concrete
Procedure
- Count the cement bags in the batch and measure the compound for that number.
- Stir the compound into the gauging water or add it to the wet mix. Never pour it onto dry cement. CONPROOF 500 is first mixed into 3 to 5 litres of water.
- For ready-mix, pour CONPROOF RMC ADMIX 88 into the transit mixer at site.
- Use only enough water for a workable mix.
- Dispense any plasticizer separately; do not premix admixtures.
- Compact fully and cure from the first day for at least 7 days.
Important Suggestions
No admixture closes honeycombs and voids left by poor compaction or excess water. Treat construction joints separately with ROOFEX.
Why This Treatment?
An integral compound reduces the water needed and blocks the capillaries in concrete and plaster, so the mass itself resists water. It works with good concreting practice, not instead of it.
